I have a feeling that they just dont care, I mean now we have wintersday costumes coming up, why in the world would they want to FIX something already out there (armor problems have been around for 5+ years with no fix in sight).
so yeah, I would really like to know why they hate men so much????

Actually I'll be with any reply. Be it something like: "Yea, we know you're not happy with it. We only released the 3rd costume set to please those who went OMG I want top hats of my girls after the release of the interview. We didn't had enough time for a 3rd male costume, but we will update it in 6 months.". Or something like: "We actually sold more wedding costume packs than we were expected and are too lazy to change it now. Deal with it.". Or maybe actually a good reason why they decided to clone the 3rd male costume and some really good reason why they can't change it now.
I just want to know if I will buy their costumes in the future.

Just a suggestion on a 3rd option... Im not the best artist and it is just a sketch
Maybe if Anet does care they can use it... Im sure they could make good work of it
I only have female chars, but I do get the point of this and that it is unfair... so hopefully Anet does give this topic a look ^_^
Edit: made minor change on the drawing because someone noted something out for me

I play all male characters although I occasionally role a female pvp toon from time to time.
I have always thought the costumes were a rip off and a way of exploiting the gw fan base, yet I broke down and brought the Halloween costumes because they were just so nice. Then they followed it up with this nonsense which has no value for people who play male characters. Sad thing is its so obvious they had to have realized it and just didn't care. They are counting on peoples desire to collect all the costumes for their account to make them overlook the fact that the male only gets one truly unique costume. Not a very good trend developing here.

I wonder if A.net will not answer this thread because they lack a good reason or because they just look at Riverside Inn forum...

Raynb, they do have a reason... a reason most game developers probably don't consider. It makes more money for Anet to make female characters good looking, even though many people want the same for male characters! But for every person who wants good looking male characters (and their armor), much more other people oppose it, because it takes resources away from making females good looking... *sigh*

I wonder if I should keep bumping this thread cause this whole thing with cloned costumes ended up being better for me: the steam give and get sales > costumes. Better use for my money.

They don't bother making male costumes good looking, that way people will pay to change their male characters to female. Two birds with one shot.
Pity I don't want a bimbo female character, eh? I want good looking male characters!

Wow, really not a single pronunciation about this issue... Well, why would they, I already paid so why bother with a customer, right? Really sad as a customer to have such silence from A.net...

Wouldn't waste your time....I can't even get a strait answer to if they will fix the graphical mistakes made on already sold and then "update fixed" costumes...after about a month now.
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/r...0459041p2.html
they will probably keep turning out sub par costumes until enough people are upset enough that they don't sell anymore.

Which is why they never use anything anyone sends them unless they specifically ask for it via a contest.

So?
Imagine all those complaining in this thread are females. They play just male characters. Or they play both male and female characters.
Anyway... Since we are females, we probably played with Barbies when we were children. If we played with Barbies, we probably had the Ken (boy barbie) too!
So we dress up both of them.
Now, I'd be pretty pissed if I paid for a 6 piece outfit for my Barbie and Ken, it's advertised as 3 for Barbie 3 for Ken, but the Barbie clothes are all beautiful and different, and Ken gets 3 outfits that look identical?! What's the point? I want to dress up Ken too!
Plus, I bet you're from USA. Men in other countries spend and care as much as women, if not MORE, on looking good. Yet it's rare in USA. Speaking from experience.
(I'm bored)

I suspect there were only supposed to be two costumes per gender. The traditional wedding attire and the formal attire. It's pathetic the costume designers made a lame ass attempt on the second male costume.
Then someone at ArenaNet decided it would be cool to have a female tuxedo for god knows what reason. They created it because they knew some people would like it (and in true double standard fashion they didn't give males the same cross dressing treatment - not that there would be too many complainers) and it was put into the final package as a "bonus costume."
Then some greedy drop kick from ArenaNet marketing saw an opportunity to argue that there were technically 6 costume options from the NPC (regardless of the fact two of the male ones were identical and the third male one was almost the same as the other two male ones) so he decided to charge extra for the whole package even though males only get one costumes (I refuse to recognise the removal of tassles and slight lengthening of tales = new costume).
There are three faults here:
- The costume designers half assed the "two" male tuxedos so they are barely distinguishable from each other.
- The inclusion of the third female option (in addition to their already two unique options) was completely inconsistent and favours the female gender.
- Some drop kick from marketing put a greedy price tag on the whole thing. He charged for six costumes instead of the 4 and 1/2 players were given.
This is the new ArenaNet: plug your credit card in and any chance we get to take money for as little as possible (and less than what justifies the price) because it makes the bottom line look better. Increasing the price of the already overpriced costumes when you didn't increase the content is a slap in the face. This is what happens when a company has a captured audience willing to pay anything for a little extra regardless of whether they think it's value for money.

I mean, Anet does state that there was only five costumes released, not six. If you want, read up on the Limited Edition Wedding Party Costume Pack in the NCsoft Store.
It says there is only five costumes, not six, and that the second male costume was teamed up in the third package. So basically, Anet meant to only release two male costumes and three female costumes.
But I do agree with OP. Even though we were only supposed to get two male costumes and three female costumes, they should have given males a third to be fair to both sexes.
Even if it was something as simple as this (business type attire):
